20 years and
going strong
This year, we are celebrating the 20th DECT conference, the most important annual industry event for us where networking takes place, interesting discussions happen and new ideas are born. We are allowed to be proud of what we have achieved in the past 20 years but we cannot rest on our success.
Taking into account the fast changing environment – both social and technical - we need to move on to new horizons, towards new and innovative usages of our technology to ensure our success in the future.
I am happy to see that ULE is gaining momentum, especially in Germany but, from my point of view, we should not limit ourselves - we have to look elsewhere as well and I am sure we will find even more opportunities.
The DECT Forum will continue to serve the community by defending what we have and providing support for new activities.
We have also invited member CTOs to a brainstorming session to be held before DECT World in Barcelona to identify which industry needs and trends we should follow and to pin down necessary actions for the DECT Forum and Standardization organizations.
I am looking forward to seeing you all in Barcelona.

This edition of DECT Today
The 20th anniversary of DECT offers us some unique opportunities, as Andreas has so ably highlighted above, and I'm delighted to be able to bring you the fifth issue of DECT
Today on such an auspicious occasion.
What is clear is that DECT is forging ahead, meeting new challenges and technological changes head on, with developments such as ONEaudio, which offers robust wireless speaker connectivity with hi-fi quality. In addition, the ULE Alliance continues to bear fruit, while the entries for the DECT Forum Awards demonstrate that there are plenty of exciting products out there, with plenty more to come, I'm sure.
So with hope that you'll enjoy this issue of the publication, I wish you an enjoyable and fruitful DECT World 2016.
