Munich, Germany – November 4, 2026. DECT World 2026 has concluded in Munich with a record turnout of more than 200 participants, the highest in the event’s history. Held from 2 to 4 November at the Eurostars Grand Central hotel, the conference brought together technology providers, manufacturers, developers, users and industry experts to mark a new phase for DECT NR+: the move from ecosystem building to commercial deployment.
A strong start with “How to get started with NR+”
The programme opened on 2 November with the pre-event “How to get started with NR+”, organised by the Opener Initiative and hosted by the DECT Forum. The hands-on session gave engineers and developers a practical introduction to NR+, including demonstrations and direct access to experts.
Two days of insights, products and live demonstrations
The main conference on 3 and 4 November reflected the strong momentum of the NR+ ecosystem. After the Chairman’s welcome by Christian Schepke and a keynote by Wienke Giezeman, Co-Founder and CEO of The Things Industries, the programme covered the topics shaping the future of the technology:
- Certification and interoperability: an update on the first NR+ certification programme, together with a demonstration of the test tool.
- Buildings and industry: updates from the Buildings Interest Group, and the formal launch of the new Industrial Interest Group (IIG) for industrial applications and automation.
- Technology provider updates: presentations from Nordic Semiconductor, Last Mile Semiconductor, DSR, Lynq, STRATUM 9, Qartia and the Opener Initiative on silicon, software stacks and platforms.
- Professional audio: a dedicated audio block and the launch of the new Audio Interest Group (AIG).
