Axel Sikora
Dr.-Ing. Axel Sikora is professor at Offenburg University heading the Institute of Reliable Embedded Systems and Communication Electronics, where novel real-time, secure and efficient wireless communications protocols are conceptualized, implemented and validated. He is also associate director at Hahn-Schickard, a leading reseach institute on microsystem technology, where he leads the division "Software Solutions". Also, he is looking after several spinoff IoT companies.
Andreas Zipp
Andreas Zipp joined VTech Telecommunications Hong Kong in 2006 to support VTech’s transition into new business areas. Andreas is responsible for broadband business development, new technologies and innovation in VTech Telecommunications ODM business division. Prior to joining VTech Andreas had been CTO of Swissvoice. Andreas has over 20-years-experience in Broadcasting Systems, Multimedia and Telecommunications in various senior positions. Since 2006 Andreas is a member of the board of the DECT forum, in 2012 he became chairman of the DECT Forum board.
Roel Ottink
Roel Ottink holds a Masters Degree in Electrical Engineering and has a long career in private telecommunications (PBX and Unified Communications) as well as on-site wireless communications based on DECT and VoWiFi. He has worked for large companies including Philips, Ericsson and Ascom and holding positions in Product Management, Marketing and Sales. During his time at Ascom he was member of the DECT Forum Board for several years. Since September 2021 he holds the position of Director of Business Development at the DECT Forum.
Wolfgang Bilz
Wolfgang Bilz is the chairman of the Regulatory Working Group. He will give an update about spectrum protection and other important regulatory topics. Wolfgang finalised his study on telecommunication with the diploma thesis developing a wireless microphone system achieving market access for Europe. During his career with Shure, he had the chance to work in different departments in different roles including engineering, project management, compliance, and regulation. He is now a member of Shure’s Spectrum and Regulatory Team responsible for the European region. Wolfgang is chair of the PMSE (Programme Making and Special Events) industry organisation APWPT.org and chair of DECT Forum's Regulatory Working Group. For several years he has participated in several national and international regulatory and standardization groups including ITU-R, CEPT, ETSI to name a few.
Kristian Saether
Kristian Saether was born in Lillehammer, Norway, and holds a M.Sc. degree in cybernetics from the Norwegian University of Science and Technology. He has 18+ years of experience in various R&D-, applications-, -marketing and -product management roles for microcontrollers, processors, UWB radar and wireless solutions. He enjoys working with new technologies set to transform the world.
Shigeo Sato
Shigeo Sato is working for the wireless communication area around 20 years where he developed not only hardware including ASIC but also lower layer software. Currently Sato is working as DECT FAE for Dialog semiconductor which is now Renesas Electronics. He was assigned as the chairman of the Japan Working Group in 2022.
Guenter Kleindl
Dr. Guenter Kleindl is involved in the DECT standardization since 1987. From 1989 to 1991 he was “Project Team Leader” at the European Telecommunication Standards Institute (ETSI) in France. Then he chaired the DECT ISDN working group and the DECT Network working group. He was first time elected as chair of TC DECT in 1997, holding this position until today.
Guenter works closely together with the DECT Forum to obtain new requirements for DECT standardization activities and to promote DECT around the globe. He contributes to CEPT and ITU to ensure spectrum availability for DECT. In the year 2000 he achieved the approval of DECT as an IMT-2000 technology and in the year 2021 the approval of DECT-2020 NR as an IMT-2020 technology by ITU-R.
Besides ETSI and ITU he has also participated in other national and international standardisation groups like CENELEC, ECTEL, CEPT, IEEE, CITEL, ISO and IEC. Guenter has received his PHD with highest honours from the Technical University Vienna.
Jussi Numminen
Jussi Numminen has over 30 years of experience on developing global wireless communication technologies ( 3G, 4G, DECT-2020 NR) and attending in standards development in various organizations (ETSI, 3GPP and ITU). He has joined Wirepas since 2015 and is responsible for radio strategy covering standards, regulation and IPRs. Jussi is serving also ETSI TC DECT vice-chair. Before joining Wirepas he has leading standardization role at Nokia, STMicroelectronics, ST-Ericsson and Ericsson.
Jens Toftgaard Petersen
Jens Toftgaard Petersen has more than 35 years experience with wireless and software development, and holds an M.Sc.EE. He is co-founder and technical advisor in RTX A/S and has been working with DECT technology and product development for more than 30 years. He has been active in ETSI TC-DECT since 2013 involved in development and standardize of DECT, DECT-ULE and DECT2020-NR.
Andreas Wilzeck
Dr. Andreas Wilzeck is Head of "Spectrum Policy and Standards" at Sennheiser electronic GmbH & Co. KG. He holds a PhD in wireless communication technology from the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science at the Gottfried Wilhelm Leibniz University of Hannover, Germany. And has been active in standardization and regulation of wireless solutions for more than 10 years - among others in committees of ETSI, 3GPP, CEPT and ITU-R. In ETSI, he is Vice-Chairman of ETSI TC DECT and was involved in the technical evaluations on IMT-2020 (5G). He is consortium lead of the Franco-German innovation project “Media and Event production via Resilient Communication on IoT Infrastructure” (MERCI), which is co-founded by the German Federal Ministry of Economic Affairs and Climate Action and the French Ministère de l’Economie et des Finances et de la Relance (MEFR).
Stephen Berger
Mr. Berger is president of TEM Consulting, an engineering services and consulting firm in Georgetown, TX. He works actively on issues related to unlicensed spectrum, standards development, regulatory approvals, public policy, spectrum management and interference mitigation techniques.
